Both my Dad and my stepmom are lifelong journalists, and as a guy in my 20’s I took after them, freelance writing for publications such as The Globe and Mail, Saturday Night, and The Ottawa Citizen. I then took a turn into farming, which is what currently occupies most of my time - making maple syrup, growing mushrooms, pressing cider, and keeping laying hens at Ferme et Forêt. But I still enjoy writing a well researched piece that takes a different look at current issues involving politics, economics, or the environment - usually with a dose of my own opinion about it.

I write specifically about food and farming over at Farmer’s Table.
